In Matthew 24:15–51, Jesus paints a vivid picture of the end times, marked by global upheaval, deception, and sudden judgment. He speaks of the “abomination of desolation,” a prophetic warning rooted in Daniel, and calls His followers to flee danger, stay alert, and be spiritually discerning. These aren’t just historical references—they’re a wake-up call for believers today to remain watchful and anchored in truth.

Jesus emphasizes that His return will be unmistakable, like lightning flashing across the sky. There will be no doubt when the Son of Man appears. The fig tree analogy reminds us that while we may not know the exact day or hour, we can discern the season. We’re not called to obsess over timelines but to live prepared, understanding the signs and staying rooted in faith, not fear.

The days of Noah provide a sobering parallel—people were eating, drinking, and marrying, completely unaware of the flood until it came. Jesus warns that His coming will be just as sudden. Two people will be in a field; one taken, one left. The point? Everyday life will continue right up until the moment everything changes. That’s why He commands, “Be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” (Matthew 24:44).

In the closing verses, Jesus gives a parable of two servants—one faithful and diligent, the other negligent and abusive. It’s not enough to believe the Master is returning; we must be found doing His will. Readiness is proven in stewardship—how we live, serve, and remain faithful in what God has entrusted to us.

We live in an hour that demands spiritual alertness. Jesus isn’t calling us to fear but to focus. His return is sure, and our calling is clear: live ready. Stay faithful. Let your hands be found doing His work, your heart be filled with His Word, and your life reflect the hope of His coming. May we be servants who welcome His return with joy, not regret.
